Committee
duties, responsibilities, and other information
home
- The committee is composed of one chairperson (the Grand Prize
winner) and eleven other members.
- The chairperson is in charge of the committee. He/She sets
meeting dates, controls finances, and otherwise oversees the rest of
the members.
- The committee's primary focus is to setup all aspects of the
dinner including the following:
- Date of Dinner
- Location
- Menu
- Price of Dinner
- Advertisement
- All members of the committee sell tickets for the dinner.
- In general, many of the donators buy tickets for their
employees.
- All members collect donations for door prizes, major prizes, and
auction items.
- In general, many of the donators are aware of the dinner and
contribute yearly. However, each member generally tries to add a
few
that were not on the list previously, because most likely some donators
will abstain for this year.
- Typically previous lists are available and each member selects
donators they are familiar with and then the remaining are distributed
evenly.
- Each member typically collects approximately 20 donations.
- Note: It is important that all persons receiving a prize
contribute to soliciting donations. Anyone that does not,
increases
the work load of the remaining members.
- The committee decides what makes up each prize.
- Typically there are approximately 6 to 12 meetings to complete
all of these tasks.
